Ingredients

  • 8 ounces whipped herb cream cheese softened
  • 4 Roma tomatoes seeded and finely diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves finely chopped
  • 1 small clove garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 baguette sliced and toasted, for serving

Equipment

  • Small serving platter
  • Mixing bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Toaster or oven

Method

  1. Place the softened herb cream cheese on a small platter or in a shallow serving dish. Spread it into an even layer.
  2. Combine the diced tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Spoon the tomato mixture over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly across the surface.
  4. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top. Chill for 15 to 20 minutes if desired, then serve with toasted baguette slices.

Notes

  • Drain watery tomatoes before assembling so the dip stays firm.
  • For a hot version, bake in a small dish at 375°F for about 15 minutes and add fresh basil afterward.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to two days.
