Method
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and coat well.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Shred the chicken with two forks and stir it back into the sauce before serving.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 20 minutes or broil the shredded chicken briefly.
- Serve on buns, over rice, or with mashed potatoes.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze with extra sauce.
